A Day in the Life of Brandon
Showcase Concert

First thing to say about this.

SO. TIRED.

Being in like 3 music programs tires you out really fast.

But anyway, Jazz went awesome, Orchestra was beasted, and Drumline flopped liked the dead fish it was.  …But it was a pretty good flop on our part, since we didn’t really practice at all.  Or at least I don’t relapse practicing.

…I mean recall.

…Not relapse.

…Why would I say that?

TAGGED

The things I do when I’m bored…

…And also the things I would feel really guilty about if I don’t end up doing…

…Hi Janet. =P

(All of my answers are in parentheses.  Like this one!)

  1. How many siblings do you have? (1 too many.  =P  I’ve always wanted to have a younger sister though.)
  2. Favorite Band? (Well…the thing is, I don’t really listen to music very often so….I don’t really know enough to pick a favorite band. -__-” )
  3. One thing you wish you could do? (Find true love! <3  Come on, who wouldn’t?)
  4. Somewhere you want to travel to? (Japan!  I heard they have really good food there!)
  5. Biggest fear? (Hmm… Probably…darkness.  ..Or better yet, GRIMDARKNESS.)
  6. Craziest thing you’ve ever done? (Is there an “pretty much everything” choice for this question?  I probably would have to weigh between picking up all those music programs my senior year or attempting to dive on a concrete surface)
  7. If there was a war between zombies and dinosaurs, which side would you choose? (Probably zombies.  I bet they would live longer.  …Unless some plants show up.  Then I’m DEFINITELY siding with the plants against the zombies and the dinosaurs.  …They should make that the sequel for Plants vs. Zombies.  ”Plants vs. Zombies AND Dinosaurs!”)
  8. If you could rename yourself, what name would you choose? (Hmm… I kinda like the name “Nick”.  Or maybe even “Patrick” or “Sean”.)
  9. Favorite saying? (“I hate it when that happens!”  …That’s actually my quote.  Maybe I should pick a legitimate saying.  Hmm..  ”The world ends with you”.)
  10. Think of the person you most “strongly” dislike.  How would you “strongly” hurt them? XD (But I don’t really “strongly” dislike anybody, with or without quotation marks!  I would probably poke them into submission. =P )
  11. What is the last thing you think of before you fall asleep? (This question can vary by so much.  Sometimes I think about people, and sometimes I think about stuff going on in my life.  Sometimes I reflect upon myself and sometimes I think very existentially.  It varies.)

Happy, Janet?  :P

this song is just so great I need to reblog it again

I will always reblog this song

This song is so awesome…  XD

Compacked

Yesterday, I inadvertently packed myself a compact schedule.

After school, we had another Drumline practice.  Apparently, we’re performing for the Spring Showcase concert next Tuesday or something, so we need to practice now.

For the record, the concert is for every THHS music program.  …I’ll be performing at least 3 times.  That should be fun.  =P

Afterwards, I headed over to Pinecrest Park for the next Humans Vs. Zombies game.  That’s right.  I’M DOING IT AGAIN!  One more time before I go off to college! =)

After doing a lot of “not being turned into a zombie”, I went back to school to go watch that play “Cinderella” with Mackenzie and Marissa.  Mackenzie had to go watch because her sister was in it (Kelly) and she didn’t want to be alone.  I came because I honestly didn’t have too many other things better to do (besides playing LoL and being a loner.  …Those aren’t really fun.) and ‘cause I’m an awesome friend.  …Probably.

We went to Denny’s after that for a late-night snack.  It was a lot of fun.  =D

And now I’m at home, typing on my computer late at night.  Today was just a quick recap as opposed to something fun/interesting, so I’ll try to be more funny/interesting tomorrow.

…See ya.

Post-Prom

Some of you have been waiting for this.  Anna Sasaki will like that she’s being referenced again.  …Just because of that, I won’t reference her in this post.  (…wait a minute…)

So Prom was AWELICIOUS!  =P  There was dancing, go-kart racing, a chocolate fountain, a ton of games, and so much more stuff!  …This is still not worth the price of admission for Matt Sasaki.

…Oh yeah, our Prom was at K1 Speed.  For the uninformed, it’s this EXTREME go-kart place.  Not your average Boomers, I can assure you.

So my group consisted of me, my date Megan, Sean, Tiffani, Shruti, Alec, Cory, Sophie, Jacob, Rianne, Devin Marcus, Elizabeth, Francis, and Lauren.  Very very fun.

We took pictures by RSM Lake, ate at BJ’s, took a limo to Prom, and partied like there was no tomorrow!

It was also my first time trying out the go-karts at K1 Speed.  They are a LOT faster than the normal ones!  I was totally going to win, but I got side-checked by Parshan while taking a turn and my entire kart spinned around!  See, that’s what happens when you leave your unlimited supply of turtle shells at home.  …And lightning bolts.  (Megan actually ended up beating me on that one.  Looks like it’s ME who must brush up on my Mario Kart skills.)

It was also fun to see my two friends Michael Peterson and Tiffany Goncalves be crowned king and queen!  I was totally rooting for them.  …Well, I was also rooting for Alec, but no one could be his queen, so it really wasn’t going to work out that well.  Sorry Alec! (He secretly doesn’t care.)

I had a lot of fun on the dance floor!  Mostly because Megan was into it too.  =P  She was actually a lot more…pro-active than I thought she was.  Like I thought I would be the one initiating things, but she totally took control.  I guess I always imagined her to be more passive?  Well, I guess that’s me now.  …and now I just posted this on a public blog.  Cool.  Meh, this post is probably going to be so long that no one will read this far.  …So I think I’m safe here.

Afterwards, since we still had the limo guy rented til 3:15, we headed down to Class 302, a restaurant known for its shaved ice and boba.  It was REALLY REALLY good!  I would totally go back there.  =D

And there you have it.  Prom.  Loads of fun and filled with lasting memories.  Good memories.  I really have to thank Megan, half because her mom planned out all of the stuff, and half because she was a wonderful date.  It wouldn’t have been that much fun without her.  =)  <>

Drop the Bomb

Wow, I haven’t really updated for a long time.  Like a WEEK.  Might as well catch up now.

AP week(s) are finally over, so the school year is pretty much DONE.  Senioritis is kicking in very well, so we’ll see what happens with that.

For the uninformed…

Senioritis (noun): A “disease” that infects the typical high school senior, increasing the chances of the infected missing school and increasing the desire  to not care about school.

Prom was yesterday!  …But I’m going to talk about it later.  =P  I kinda wanted to say something else instead today.  ..So yeah, more on Prom later.

^^^^And that paragraph is probably killing Anna Sasaki on the inside somewhere.  Probably not more on that later.

Anyway, what I’m about to say next will affect you depending on your religious beliefs.  Get ready.

I got baptized today.

Feel free to respond however you like.  I’m not ashamed of it.

I’ve been meaning to be baptized for quite a while actually.  I guess I felt now would be the best time, before leaving for college and now that my d-…

…Well, that’s another story.

I actually meant to post this yesterday, but Tumblr’s queueing thingy was acting up on me again.  Sorry!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Because without my mom, I wouldn’t exist right now, physically and mentally.  =)

…Okay, the second part of that sentence came out weird, but you guys know what I mean.

And because my mom does all of this stuff for me, comes to every single event that I do that’s either music or track related, and she’s paying for college.  :D

Random Stuff I’m up to

…Wow, that has to be one of my suckiest titles yet.  Like, at least the other ones either rhymed, had some sort of alliteration, or some clever reference to SOMETHING.  No wonder I have a couple of posts with blank titles.

Anyways, with all of this random free time I have laying around (because it’s not like I’m going to STUDY for AP’s), I’ve been trying to find ways to occupy my time.  These activities include:

  • Playing League of Legends
  • Working on my RPG
  • Playing Donkey Kong Country Returns

…In no particular order.

This week feels really…non-existent to me.  There’s really nothing going on anymore. I need some more excitement in my life.  I kinda miss all of the random stress I used to have in a way.

…But I’m not saying that I don’t like this free time.  This is exactly what I’ve wanted for so long.

I’m just saying that it feels weird not to be very PRODUCTIVE.

AP Testing Week(s)!

And thus began AP testing!

AP stands for Advanced Placement.  …Or Advanced Procrastination.  …Or Asian Pride.  =P  It’s these tests that we can take to get college credit.  …and a lot of people reading this post probably already knew that.  -__-“

…Yep.  I’m taking 4 AP tests for the next two weeks.  They are:

  • Chemistry
  • English Literature and Composition
  • Statistics
  • Macroeconomics

So we’ll see what happens.

Soft-core Spoilers

Well, there’s some good news and some bad news.

Good news: Finally got that silly English paper done so I have 10X more free time than I did before!  Yay!  (Well, there’s also AP’s, but screw AP’s!  Who needs them?)

Bad news: My mom wants me to do more scholarships.  Seriously mom?  Seriously?

Anyway, I might as well talk about my RPG again since I’ll be getting it up and going soon.  …Maybe not soon.  …Hopefully before the end of June.

The next game is Chapter 1.5 in the series, but I think a lot of you knew that already.  It’s a sub-chapter, so it no longer focuses on Steven and I, but instead Matt Sasaki and Jonathon Mabuni.  …Most of you knew this too.

The sub-title of the game is “I have No Mouth and I Must Scream”.  Feel free to interpret that however you like.  There’s probably no metaphorical meaning or literary connection in there.

Chapter 1.5 also has a summary of Chapter 1, so you can still kind of play 1.5 without finishing the first game.  …But it would be nice if you still went to finish the first game when you can.  =D  …Even if it is kinda hard.  Fortunately, 1.5 will be a lot easier than the first game.  More accessible for a larger target audience.

This game…doesn’t have a lot of people in it either.  Chapter 2 will definitely have a lot of people from the real world in it, so that’s when you guys will show up!  Maybe!  (which is a spoiler that that’s when a lot of people show up, but not a LOT of people)

Some people were already hinted at existing in this game already.  For example, I can say for a fact that the people whose faces were blacked out in the first game are real people.  (and for the record, the person laughing in the background is also a reference to someone.  …Not a lot of people will understand the sentence I just said.)

Well, time to go get a haircut.  See ya tomorrow.  =P

Oedipus Complex

So I learned something interesting the other day.

So my teacher Mr. Swenson talked about how most boys will develop something called the “Oedipus Complex” unconsciously.

For the uninformed, the Oedipus Complex originates from the Greek story of Oedipus, who was prophesied to “Kill his father and marry his mother”.  As it turns out, he ended up doing that.  Kind of a psychologically unnerving story if you ask me.

Anyway, so at first I was a little alarmed when my teacher said that nearly all boys had it.  However, he specified that boys would want to follow and replace their father’s roles and be drawn to certain traits that their mothers display.

He said that, for example, we should be drawn to sitting where our dads’ sit when they’re not home.  The second he said that, it hit me.  That’s EXACTLY what I’ve been doing.

…Not that I sit at those places ALL of the time.  I’m just saying that I do more often now.  It’s a weird thing.

To specify a little further, my dad spends a lot of time either on his side of the bed in the master bedroom or at a chair in the computer room (he’s a computer programmer).  So yeah, I think I’ve been subconsciously sitting in those places as well.  O.O

It’s just a weird thing I was thinking about.

English Research Paper/Senior Project Time!

This…is it.

The last major project (hopefully) before APs start.  It’s a daunting task, but it must be done.

Every last resort must be taken to ensure the paper is long enough.  Periods will be increased to size 14.  Spaces will be increased by .2 centimeters.  The margins might be 1.1 inches.  Whatever it takes.

In other news, Matt’s forcing me to learn how to play LoL.  Sadly, I think I might be getting better at it.  Not that I need another MMORPG to distract me right before APs.  …or my RPG.  I’ll worry about getting good at that during the summer or something.

Speaking about my RPG, I might as well talk about it a little more and drop some soft-core spoilers.  …Actually, I think I’ll do that tomorrow.  Gives you guys something to look forward to.  =P

…and sorry for not posting yesterday.  To make up for it, I promise to post consistently for the rest of the week, okay?  Okay!  =D

All aboard the S.S. Failboat!

————————————————————————————————-

Up til now, it’s been a very unproductive day.

Sluggishness has devoured me… mentally.

Someone, drag me quick to the Finish Line already.

It’s hard to carry on at an agonizingly mind-draining rate like this.

Chocolate Bloody Messes

Well, it’s not every day that you spill blood and chocolate ice cream soup onto your shirt, rendering both the ice cream and the shirt unusable/inedible.

That happened from a combination of getting a random nosebleed followed by accidentally flipping a plastic container of chocolate ice cream soup over myself (and others.  Sorry Sophie, Solmaz’s backpack, a small section of Kevin’s shirt, and Cory’s arm.)  …These kinds of accidents happen often surprisingly.

Anyways, I got some work to do today: Scholarships, that one research paper for English, random chem work, and I think I need to finish up the Statistics homework.  Not to mention that now I gotta take a shower to get this chocolate smell off of me.

…Actually, that might not be such a bad thing.  Girls find that attractive, right?  Scent of chocolate?  ;)

Community Servicing and Other Required School Activities

Well, the school year is finally winding down-ish.  I think.  Personally, I don’t think AP’s really count yet.

Otherwise, this week I’m focusing on getting my English research paper done and attempting to finish up the community service hours I need for NHS and CSF.  That’s kind of how I see things though.  I make an idea of what I need to get done for the week and I shoot for that goal.  In a way, I go through life on a day-to-day basis.

Hmm, I kinda feel…bored.  Like, I feel like I don’t have enough time to do what I want even though I sometimes do.  Weird feeling.
